Marriott Teams Up with Starbucks in Latest Loyalty Play

Marriott Bonvoy and Starbucks Rewards members in the U.S. can now link their loyalty accounts to earn points toward free beverages and stays. This partnership, announced by Marriott International, offers new benefits to its extensive loyalty base.

Marriott Bonvoy, with its 203 million members, has joined forces with Starbucks Rewards to provide additional perks. Members can now earn stars for free beverages at Starbucks and points for Marriott Bonvoy’s 30-plus brands and experiences.

After linking accounts, members can earn double stars at Starbucks locations during their stay at a Marriott Bonvoy-participating hotel. During Marriott Bonvoy Weeks, which will occur throughout the year, users can earn 100 Bonvoy points after making three purchases at participating Starbucks locations. The first Marriott Bonvoy Week kicks off on July 8.

Later this year, the partnership will introduce exclusive coffee- and travel-themed experiences on Marriott Bonvoy Moments. This platform has previously offered members unique experiences, such as a Taylor Swift-themed event.

Users with linked accounts can also enter sweepstakes to win various prizes, including trips to Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in Seattle, Milan, and Tokyo. Starbucks Reserve Locations in Seattle, Chicago, and New York are also introducing a special cocktail, the Starbucks Reserve Siciliano for Marriott Bonvoy, available to loyalty members.

This collaboration follows Marriott’s recent launch of MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy. The partnership has already exceeded expectations, according to MGM Resorts International CEO Bill Hornbuckle.
